In March, Earlyworks Press attended the Readers and Writers Day at the splendid De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill.

Hastings Library had a display of books for reading groups and Guy Pringle from NewBooks Magazine told the gathering about the joys of running a reading group.

Victoria Seymour read from her book 'Court in the Act' which gives some true-life background to the fictional TV series 'Foyle's War', which was filmed in Hastings.

Valerie Ishii gave the first ever public reading from her novel 'No More Ginger', to be published in 2008.

Kay Green spoke about reading and writing modern poetry, reading from her own work and from David R Morgan, Anne Ayres and others.

Other local writers present included Johnnie Johnson and Alison Frost and a delegation from Hastings Writers Group, organisers of the Legend Writing Award instigated by one of Hastings' most famous writers, the late David Gemmell.
