The ReadingsOz read his mystical ‘Oswyn’s Tree’, Cathy a selection of her poems, ranging from darkest druidary (see the back cover of ‘Old Magic’) to the London Underground, Andy gave us his ‘Ash Lady’ – one of several original takes on ‘Cinderella’ from the anthology. Therese read ‘One’ – which was one of two stories she had in the top ten in the Legend comp, (and she entered a third that very nearly made it). David gave us a heart-warming account of his marketing efforts in York (lots of people wanted to buy the snazzy pouch he was displaying the book in!) and a great rendition of his story ‘Jenny’ and Rachel read her ‘Tissue of Lies’, a fairytale with a real kick to it, whilst her young deputy cooed sweetly in the background.
Artists Katy Jones and Catherine Edmunds also gave us a display of fantasy and myth-related art, including pieces which they had prepared especially for Old Magic
Cathy Edmunds artwork display with Earlyworks Press and Circaidy Gregory Press books. Details of the anthology 'Old Magic in a New Age' are on our Publications Page. Extracts of the works in the book can be seen on our Competition Winners Page. And Earlyworks Press will be back in York for the literature festival in March of 2010. |
