Austerity Diary from Lavender Cottage

Hastings 1947

Victoria Seymour hosted a range of events to launch her new book about postwar Hastings.  

The book was launched in the Unitarian Church on 4th November 2010 at a coffee morning held as benefit for Age Concern. Pictured below ( L to R) are Canadian Wendy Johnson, who flew to England for the event. (It was a collection of Wendy's wartime family letters that started Victoria's writing career.) Victoria, Hastings Deputy Mayor and the local co-ordinator of Age Concern.

As a benefit for Age Concern  Victoria spent a day at the Age Concern Charity Shop, Battle High Street, Battle( close to Battle Abbey Gates). The shop window was given a lavender theme for the day.

On 10th October 2010 Victoria exhibited, pre-launch, at the 

Books Born in Hastings event at Hastings Town Hall.

Other events included the Ore Village Community Centre Christmas Fair,  a signing at Waterstone's, Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, Hastings. and the Moon Times Book Store, Trinity Street Hastings.
